Facilities Assistant

ByrneWallace LLP is one of Ireland’s largest full service law firms. We are a forward thinking law firm and are dedicated to the protection and promotion of our clients' interests through the provision of expert legal services. We are currently recruiting for a Facilities Assistant, reporting to the Facilities Manager on a day-to-day basis, the role will have the following responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the in-house facilities help-desk and carry out requested tasks. 
  • Responsible for the general maintenance of the building and ensuring that any faults/repairs or issues are reported to the Facilities Manager on a daily/weekly basis as needed.
  • Maintain the upkeep and cleanliness of external areas, i.e. the facade, steps and footpaths at the front of the building.
  • Ensuring waste bins are emptied daily and put out for collection twice a week.
  • Make adjustments to heating, cooling, ventilating systems using in-house system. 
  • Issue and programme access cards for new staff.
  • Set up and clean desks for new starters /leavers /movers when required.
  • Ensure facilities store room is maintained regularly and stock take regularly.   
  • Responsible for set up and preparation for events & meetings (includes remove decorations, tables, chairs, etc.).
  • Provide cover for the Post Room, Printroom and meeting rooms as required.  
  • Collecting boxes for archiving and deliver to central area for processing by archiving department.
  • On a daily basis carry out a full inspection of the building and carry out any tasks that are required.
  • Car park management – ensuring the car park is regularly swept and kept clean and tidy. Regular power washing of the car park. 
  • Rearranging of staff and client cars onto car park stackers.
  • Responsible for cleaning of reception windows on a fortnightly basis.  
  • Other responsibilities include; paper replenishment, daily power washing of front steps, litter picking.

Other Skills required:

  • Strong communication skills with a proactive attitude – Ability to build & maintain relationships.
  • Ability to multi task and adapt to requirements of the role as needed.
  • Highly organized individual with the ability to work under pressure.

Academic/Professional Qualification Requirements:

  • Leaving certificate together with high level of competency with Systems particularly on Outlook, ACT Access Control.
  • Full Driver’s License desirable but not essential. 

Number of years’ experience required:

  • One years’ experience in a similar role.
