Fiona is a partner in our Health and Social Care Team with 10 years expertise in the area of child care.
Fiona’s competency covers a broad range of services which include Administrative Law, Constitutional Law, European Law, Mental Health Law and novel applications under the Ward of Court Legislation.

Key Experience
On a daily basis Fiona advises the Child and Family Agency on all aspects of child protection legislation including the Child Care Act 1991 and the Children’s Acts 1997 and 2001. This incorporates advising the Child and Family Agency on all aspects of District Court, Circuit Court and High Court applications, alternatives to litigation, affording fair procedures, and compliance with District Court Practice Directions.
Fiona also has a strong record of defending Judicial Review of statutory decisions and has been involved in a number of seminal cases in the area of Special Care to date. Fiona has recently been involved in novel proceedings securing interim orders under the Child Care Act 1991.
Fiona regularly contributes to in-house presentations and training seminars on topics of interest in the area of Child Protection. Fiona is an annual lecturer in Legal Responsibilities in Child Welfare and Protection, in UCD and tutors for the Law Society in their Professional Practice Course.
