We are seeking ambitious Associates and Senior Associates to join our highly regarded and expanding Corporate/M&A Group.

Our Corporate/M&A Associates and Senior Associates are a highly valued and integral part of the team.    

Main Responsibilities

  • Working as part of core transaction team on domestic and cross-border M&A / corporate transactions
  • Working as part of wider inter-disciplinary and cross-border teams advising on various corporate transactions/investments 
  • Drafting high quality, clear and concise legal agreements, including share purchase agreements, asset purchase agreements, shareholder and joint venture agreements, disclosure letters, corporate re-organisation documents and negotiating same
  • Managing completion of corporate transactions/investments.
  • Training, supervising and mentoring solicitors, trainees and paralegals (and for senior associates, associates)
  • Provision of company law and other applicable legal advice to clients to a high standard in a practical, solution-focused way using legal expertise and commercial judgment 
  • Development of strong client relationships through effective client management, high standard of service and professionalism 
  • Engagement in business development initiatives, attending networking and marketing events, actively seeking opportunities for new work.
  • Effective financial management and risk management 
  • For senior associates – transaction / file management 

Candidate Requirements 

  • 3 years or more relevant PQE for Associates / C. 6/7 years or more relevant PQE for Senior Associates
  • Strong academic credentials
  • High degree of professionalism and integrity
  • Excellent analytical, research and technical skills and strong legal drafting skills
  • Pro-active, practical, solution-focused and results oriented
  • Ability to run a matter independently or work effectively as part of a team as required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively manage competing priorities and deadlines and to stay calm and objective under pressure
  • Commercially astute / understanding of market and informed as to key legal and business news
  • Active interest in/contribution to business development, internal and external network building
  • Keen awareness of risk and compliance issues
  • Ambitious with a growth mindset
  • For senior associates – proven experience of transaction / file / client management.
