Why ByrneWallace LLP?
My initial attraction to ByrneWallace LLP stemmed from the firm’s reputation as a leading full-service law firm. As a trainee candidate, I was not only attracted to the firm’s reputation for the quality of its client service and legal expertise, but also its strong learning and development culture and ‘One Firm’ approach. Having attended the firm’s Trainee Insights Webinar prior to submitting my application, I found it really encouraging to hear the firm’s managing partner, Feargal Brennan, speaking of the core culture of decency within the firm and the respect that the firm’s people have, not only for each other, but also for clients. This is something which quickly became evident on joining the firm – everyone is approachable; regardless of their level.Describe your rotations to date
Prior to commencing my training contract, I was fortunate enough to be able to join the firm’s Corporate department as a paralegal. This allowed me to gain experience in an area of law that I was particularly interested in, and it has enabled me to hit the ground running as a trainee solicitor within the department. To date I have been involved in a diverse range of projects ranging from M&A transactions to investments and corporate governance matters. I have been exposed to a broad range of high-calibre clients (including public and private, domestic and international) and across a variety of sectors, such as life sciences, TMT etc..My regular tasks include drafting and reviewing legal agreements, ancillaries etc. and conducting research for partners and fee earners. I have been pleasantly surprised by the exposure trainee solicitors have to clients and external stakeholders. The work in the Corporate department is fast-paced and interesting, and no two days are ever the same!
