ByrneWallace mark International Women's Day

Friday, 08 March 2019

To mark International Women’s Day on Friday, 8 March, the team at ByrneWallace organised a clothing collection and coffee morning in support of Dress for Success Dublin, a not-for-profit initiative which provides practical, relevant and free services to women to help them secure a job and develop sustainable careers.

Since 2011, Dress for Success Dublin has supported over 1,400 women with interview coaching, appropriate work and interview clothing, and the skills and development opportunities they need to secure employment.

Commenting on the event and staff initiative, Managing Partner Feargal Brennan said, “As a firm, we are committed to fostering a working environment that values diversity of background, experience and gender at all levels of the organisation.

"We are proud that the majority of our total workforce are female, and in particular that during 2018, we achieved a key milestone in terms of having a 50/50 male to female ratio in our partnership team. This positions the firm well above the industry average for women at partner level and as the most gender balanced firm, at partner level, amongst large law firms in Ireland. According to The Lawyer's ‘European 100' Report 2018 female representation at partner level across the largest law firms in Ireland is just over 32%; while female partnership levels across the main European firms stands at 20%.

“We are delighted to be able to support Dress for Success Dublin for the third consecutive year by hosting this event. We highly respect the excellent work they do in helping women to secure employment and achieve economic independence.”
