ByrneWallace has acted for ING Bank as lender’s legal advisor in the project finance of a portfolio of three wind farms – Black Lough (Co. Sligo) and Three Trees and Enros (both Co. Donegal) – which are amongst the last wind farms in the country to benefit from the Renewable Energy Feed-in Tariff ("REFIT") 2 support scheme.
Collectively the wind farms represent c.21 megawatts of new generation capacity being added to the Irish electricity grid and form part of Ireland’s final push to meet its target of 40% renewable electricity by end 2020.
The ByrneWallace team that advised on the transaction was led by Paraic O'Kennedy (Partner, Banking) and Karen Outram (Senior Associate, Banking), with the assistance of Neil Dunne (Partner, Property), Caroline Matson (Associate, Property) and Kelly Mackey (Solicitor, Corporate)
