COVID-19
A new strain of coronavirus, COVID-19, emerged in Wuhan, China, in December 2019. The World Health Organisation declared COVID-19 as a Public Health Emergency of International Concern on 30 January 2020, and updated its classification to that of a pandemic on 11 March 2020.
In Ireland, as the COVID-19 health emergency continues to escalate, the Irish Government introduced a range of measures and restrictions to slow down the spread of this virus and ultimately stop it in its tracks.
The virus and these various restrictions have had a major impact on Irish and international organisations and brought significant challenges and disruption to business.
