  • We advised on the development of a number of renewable energy projects including wind, solar and hydrogen projects. We have advised Gridbeyond in relation to the financing of its plans to develop a pipeline of behind the meter battery storage projects across the UK and Ireland, with a project financing facility from Triodos Energy Transition Europe Fund. Additionally, we have advised GeoPura in relation to the delivery of new hydrogen power generation demonstration fuel cells to ESB to showcase what is the first deployment of hydrogen to electricity in Ireland.
  • We advised Hitachi Energy in relation to the delivery of energy infrastructure and services for a broad scope of projects including data centres, electric vehicle infrastructure and energy transmission and distribution systems.
  • We advised a large energy user on a number of corporate power purchase agreements with renewable energy generators. This has the dual benefit of securing reduced energy costs and guarantees of origin in relation to the energy purchased.
  • We currently act for the Environmental Protection Agency, reviewing financial instruments provided by EPA Licensed Operators.
  • We advised clients on planning and environmental issues, including advising clients on issues related to the proposed Metrolink project. We have advised both international and Irish clients in relation to the regulatory regime governing the development of off-shore wind farms and other clients in relation to the associated downstream investment and delivery opportunities arising in connection with such projects.
  • We advised a public sector client on energy efficiency standards which included advising on provisions of Directive 2010/31/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 19 May 2010 on Energy Performance of Buildings, the European Union (Energy Performance of Buildings Regulations) 2012, The Climate Action and Low Carbon Amendment Act 2021 and the European Union (Energy Efficiency) Regulations 2014.
  • We advised both international and Irish clients in relation to the regulatory regime governing the development of off-shore wind farms and other clients in relation to the associated downstream investment and delivery opportunities arising in connection with such projects.
  • We advised ING Bank, a branch of ING DiBa AG in connection with project finance for the development of a portfolio of three onshore Irish wind farms at Black Lough (Co. Sligo), Three Trees and Enros (both Co. Donegal) with a combined new generation capacity of circa 21MW being added to the Irish electricity grid.
  • We advised the UK-based specialised asset finance provider, Close Leasing Limited, on the acquisition of 50% interest in a 20.5MW wind farm by way of share acquisition and refinance of senior debt secured on the project.
  • We advised a European bank in connection with term finance to an Irish wind farm SPV for the purpose of discharging various preliminary costings (including regulatory, pre-planning and design, and grid connection costs) in connection with the proposed development of onshore wind farms across a number jurisdictions.
  • We advised a UK-based lender in connection with advices pertaining to management of the assets, variation of loan terms, and restructuring and re-gearing of existing facilities for a 13.5MW wind farm project in Co. Cavan.
