Keppel Data Centres REIT

ByrneWallace LLP is delighted to have advised Keppel Data Centres REIT (KDCR) in relation to 3 separate Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) to procure renewable electricity for its data centre operations in Ireland.

KDCR signed a long term wind PPA with Greencoat Renewables earlier this year. The PPA will see Keppel purchase 67GWh of renewable energy generated at Greencoat’s Ballybane Phase 1 wind farm in County Cork, Ireland.

KDCR has also signed two long term solar PPAs with Metka (a subsidiary of Mytilineos - a Greek energy company). The solar farms are located in Wexford and Kilkenny and have a collective capacity of 14.28MW.

On foot of these PPAs, about 92% of the combined power requirements at Keppel DC REIT’s two data centres will be met by Irish renewable sources.

The ByrneWallace LLP Team that advised on these transactions was led by Fergal Ruane (Head of Projects and Infrastructure) and assisted by Daniel Lawlor (Consultant and Head of the ByrneWallace LLP Financial Services team), Rory O'Huiginn (Associate, Projects and Infrastructure) and Christopher Woods (Solicitor, Projects and Infrastructure).
